But you know, I have to wonder if people like that should not be marginalized and basically ignored. Someone so mentally lazy and puritanical that they can not use filters to save their righteous pure vision from the vile images, really aught not be on an art site, really. You see the more we give in to this kind of cultural mediocrity and only encourages the hatred of education and the expansion of the mind.
We have watered down culture more than I would have thought our citizens would have allowed. Do you know what offends me? Practiced ignorance and stupidity. I say if you want to accept nonsense instead of knowledge then have at it. Just do not expect me to participate. I may be headed for Hell in your puerile beliefs, but it beats living in the Hell that ignorance and practiced stupidity create.
Being a mediocre student myself I find it amazing that so many have just given up. I always thought Americans were strong, vibrant and honorable. I guess not.
So if you really do hate images of the human body including nipples, vaginas, erect penises, assholes, knees or ears, art would seem to be the wrong career move. But I would not keep anyone from hiding their face from such things, or believing that Adam and Eve house trained Tyrannosaurus Rex ... and everything thing is perfectly explained by Creationism without a shred of empirical data. No, by all means be as ignorant and culturally retarded as you like. Just stay the hell away from me and others who are not offended. And for the sake of every Muse in this great Multiverse, stop chin scraping to these pretentiously self-righteous morons. If you must, give them filters to hide what they don't like. Spoon feed them too for all I care. At least have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and give ART a place in this plastic, antiseptic, imitation joke we call American culture so it has some value. People have DIED to protect and serve art. Anyone who plays to the tune of the ignorant, whoever they maybe, is denigrating their sacrifice.
I really do not care what someone believes. I would fight to protect their right to do so. But in turn I would like the same freedom. Just because it offends you, does not mean it is right to legislate your hatred. Just because you are offended that your religious beliefs have to deal with agnostics, pagans and atheists, not to mention secular laws, does not mean you can push through legislation through to force your beliefs into our political system. It is just as wrong to do the opposite. Our Constitution provides the frame work for a secular government in a society rich with cultures of all kinds. If you really want to see what happens when religion and its 'laws' gets involved in society, look into history or Jones town Guyana, or the Taliban, or Sharia, or Talmudic Law or Hindu Law and Caste system.... it goes on and on. Women treated as less than human. Children made to work at very young ages without education. And the most brutal punishments for offenses... would you like to lose a hand or your head for a crime? Or worse, being stoned to death because you wore two different fabrics together? Yeah... all good, righteous laws. The same ones that outlaw and destroy works of art because they 'offend' their followers, clergy and 'God'. We won't mention the hypocrisy in all of this.
